NEW Club Membership Fee
The Rose City Curling Club is implementing a Club Membership Fee of $10 per curler to cover costs associated with Curling Alberta and Curling Canada affiliation fees as well as liability insurance coverage fees. This fee is separate from League fees and will only be charged once per curling season.

Sturling! Heard of it? Yes or no, you should give it a shot! Sturling is a new discipline of curling where teams only require two people and sliding and sweeping is not a requirement. This is a perfect game for anyone with lower mobility. The Rose City Curling Club has several members who have taken a liking to the sport of Sturling and are eager and excited to teach anyone and everyone how to play.

Monday afternoons 1:30 to 3:30 pm. This league is separate from the Tuesday/Thursday drop in league and as such, a separate league fee must be paid to take advantage of the game all season. Registration fee is $155+GST per person full season; $77.50+GST per person half season.

Monday afternoons 4:15 to 6:15 pm. Registration fees are $200 per student for the full season or $100 per student for a half season (either before or after Christmas). The sessions begin with a warm up to practice the curling slide and balance. Players will then play a curling game and this will evolve into a curling league with fixed teams for the last half of the season. Start date TBD.
Competitive League

Monday evenings at 7:00 pm. This Monday Night Competitive League is made up of teams of any Female/Male combination. Registration fee is $15.50+GST per game/per person plus $10 membership fee/per person/per season. After completion of a Round Robin, playoffs will consist of dividing the total number of teams in half based on their win/loss record. The team that finished first in each pool will play the last place team in their pool; second place plays the second last place; etc. Single knock-out until the winners of each pool are decided.

The league runs for a shorter time during the season to accommodate harvest and bonspiel season.

This is a great league for those nervous about the numbers of people associated with four person curling teams. Physical distancing is made easy with only four players on a sheet! Sarah will be on hand to give lessons to those who have never tried the sport before.

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Registration fee is $310+GST per person full season; $155+GST per person half season. This drop in league targets any and all curlers of varying ages and skill levels, with the majority of participants being 65+.  Participants can opt to pay a one time membership and league fee and curl an unlimited number of games in this league throughout the season. Or, if preferred, all participants have the option to pay by the game. The fee for a single game is $10+GST/game + a $10 Membership Fee.

This league creates teams each day based on the curlers present, offering all players the unique opportunity to meet, curl, and socialize with new people every week! The members of this league are welcoming and excited to have new people come out to curl. Anyone who is interested in stick curling is encouraged to come out and give it a try! Many members stick curl and are more than willing to share their expertise. There are also staff members on site familiar with stick curling who can help with any questions. If you do not own curling equipment, please do not let that deter you! The Rose City Curling Club has grippers, sliders, brooms, stabilizers, and sticks available for use. All that is required of you is appropriate clothing and a clean pair of shoes!

Curlers in this league typically have some curling experience, as this is one of the RCCC’s more competitive leagues. Spares are welcome in this league.

Wednesday afternoons 4:30 to 5:30 pm for a total of 13 weeks. Registration fee is $175 (includes a hoody). This non-competitive program is for kids ages 6 to 12 years and teaches the sport of curling. Led by the Augustana Vikings Varsity Curling Team, athletes will have all kinds of fun aiming for the button! A CSA approved helmet is mandatory for Little Rockers. Youth with adequate curling experience looking to advance his or her skill level are encouraged to contact Roger Galenza, Camrose Academy of Curling General Manager at (780) 672-4152.

Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Registration fee $295+GST per person full season; $140+GST per person before Christmas; $155+GST per person after Christmas. This Social League was created to gather friends, co-workers, family members, and others together and remember what the spirit of curling is all about. This league is strictly non-competitive, with members only playing 6 ends of curling in an open team style. All teams will play one another, no win/loss records will be kept. Teams can be any combination of males/females and adults/youths. Anyone who is interested, but does not have a team may register as an individual and will be placed on a team requiring players.

Curling experience is not necessary as there are always staff or other members around who are eager to share their love of this sport with new and enthusiastic individuals. Curling equipment is not necessary. The Rose City Curling Club will provide brooms, sliders, sticks and any other necessary equipment. The only thing required from members is appropriate clothing and clean, indoor shoes!

Thursday afternoons from 4:15 to 5:15 pm for approximately 10 weeks. Registration fee is $100 per student. These sessions provide technical training on how to curl that focuses on delivery, balance and sweeping. NEW Open Drop In

A new league for anyone who wants to curl without the commitment of curling every single week, all season. All curlers will pay a one time drop in fee every time they come of $10.50/person/game (or buy a 10 game punch card). Curlers are welcome to show up with a team, or be matched up upon arrival. The type of game played (sturling, doubles, triples, or four man) will be determined each week by the number of people who show up!

A $10.00 one time Membership Fee will be required from all participants!

Spare Registry
All Rose City Curling Club members who are playing in a league are allowed to spare in any other league free of charge. If a curler wishes to spare who is not curling in another league, they will need to register with a curler profile to have their name placed on the spare list for the leagues of their choice. A text box is available on the registration form to note the leagues and/or days of the week they are available to spare. Spares are required by Curling Alberta rules to pay a club membership fee of $10 for the season to play in a curling club league.
Discount for students
The Rose City Curling Club offers discounted curling fees to junior and senior high school students as well as college/university students. For a team of junior and/or senior high school students to enter a league, the cost is $672+GST per team (club membership fee x 4 players is included). A team of college or university students registered in a league is $972+GST per team (club membership fee x 4 players is included). If a student wishes to enter into a league with other non-student curlers (for example, their parents), the fee for the league will be adjusted using the same percentage as if they were curling with a student team. These discounts will automatically be applied in the online registration system when enrolling a student in a league.
