October 2023
Welcome back! Its great to see new and familiar faces. We've seen an increase in the amount of teams registering this year throughout all of our leagues. This is a testament to the wonderful and supportive community we have in Camrose and area as many other clubs in the province are still facing challenges after COVID. We may be biased but we think the sport of curling is wonderful as it is inclusive to all ages and abilities. It provides a great opportunity to socialize, meet new people and is an affordable form of recreation.
We kicked off the season with the Comedy Curl Jam this month. We have many fun and exciting events in store so stay tuned, we cannot wait to see you all!
November 2023
What better way to celebrate the end of harvest then with our Farmers Bonspiel which was held on the 24th & 25th. Our packed house saw some spirited but friendly competition, not just on the ice but with our silent auction. We cannot thank our amazing sponsors, local businesses and organizers enough for all the hard work that made this bonspiel so successful. Most importantly thank you to our farmers, we appreciate everything you do.
We have added a "drop-in" Sturling league every Wednesday at 1:30pm. Fees are only $10 per visit, we have convenient punch card passes available at the office. Sturling is a great option for those who may have mobility issues as a stick is used for delivery and there is no sweeping until the rock reaches the hog line. This makes for a faster pace and does not diminish the challenging aspect of the game.
The "Chase the Ace" Raffle has started. Tickets are $5 each with a weekly draw every Thursday evening. Check our "raffle" menu for more details.
December 2023
Things are in full swing! Our Junior Curlers program is a huge success with over 60 youth and counting. Plans are in the works to have bonspiels with other junior groups in the county in the new year. We look forward to seeing the kids skills and confidence grow over the season.
