RCCC Wednesday Afternoon U18 Junior Curling Program
Do you have a teen interested in trying curling? Has your child been an active participant in the RCCC U8 or U12 Program(s) and are now ready to move up? This is the program for them!
The U18 Curling Program is a non-competitive program specifically designed for kids between the ages of 12-18 years. This program is designed for older youth with at least some basic curling experience. This 14 week program is a step up from our U8 and U12 Programs, with more focus on specific curling skills, techniques, strategy, and gameplay.
We recognize that not every youth will have the same goals when it comes to curling. Our goal is to help your child reach theirs. We welcome both those seeking competitive play, and those looking for fun and recreation. This program will focus far more heavily on game play and the use of the skills that we practice weekly.
This program is also the place for any Middle and High School Curlers. We have combined our School Curling Program with our previoius Junior Program to create one place for all U18 Curlers. If your child is part of a school curling program and is interested in more help with their skills, this is the perfect place for them! Out coaches can help facilitate the creation of Middle and High School teams as well if needed.
If your child is interested in this program, but has no prior curling experience, please reach out to us for a discussion about which of our programs would best fit your needs!
Please note that a CSA approved helmet is mandatory for all program participants under the age of 12 years old. We ask that curlers bring clean shoes for the ice.
